Victoria Franco wants to volunteer 2021-01-03 04:17:38 -0800
Every organization needs volunteers. Friends of Kasem Cares has so much work to do as awareness of elder abuse and neglect issues remains frightfully scarce. Any and all volunteer efforts will be welcome and appreciated. Will you help?Become a volunteer
Victoria Franco signed Take The Pledge 2020-11-20 01:28:38 -0800My family has been victim of a local guardianship, with total and complete power, without any accountability. Assisted by A.P.S. and D.S.H.S., they ultimately sought assistance from the State Assistant Attorney General’s Office because I put up a fight. Not one I was prepared for at all. With the lies, fraud, libelous slander and false allegations, bargaining, good humored slaps on the back of “do me this favor”, I became so disillusioned and then disgusted, I felt alone. Now I have healed somewhat, continue researching,, and keeping up with my journals, have to make this decision to help others in any way I can without stepping on the wrong toes. I don’t want to be investigated, monitored, followed, falsely reported upon by community members I thought would never stoop to that level of ignorance; nor can I just pick up with my life where it was,, before it was so rudely torn apart, isolated, lied to, and forced out of my own city limits,, only so a certain group of individuals could seize all assets, access bank accounts, sell my mother’s house, get rid of her identity by furthering their vile attempts to isolate and terrify the vulnerable adult with threats and punishing family members. The unscrupulous tactics employed by the state, court, attorney’s, guardianship, A.P.S., and D.S.H.S., are too lengthy and vile to sum up in a few paragraphs. I can only say that I want to give 100% of myself to volunteer and make any difference I can to never see the degree of loneliness I have witnessed and been part of, to never see those painful tears or feelings of abandonment these crooked individuals have made the elderly vulnerable adults feel along with their families. I will give it my everything. My absolute best.2,463 pledges
Stop the Silence. Promote Awareness. Raise your Voice.
- 1 to 2 million Americans age 65+ report having been abused by a loved one or someone they depend on for care.
- Only 1 in 14 incidents of elder abuse are ever reported to authorities.
- Only 1 in 25 cases of financial exploitation are ever reported, meaning there may be at least 5 million financial abuse victims each year.
You can do your part to end the silent epidemic of elder abuse by taking the pledge to stand up against elder abuse. There are 10,000 people who are turning 65 each and every day (Pew Research Center), and we are rapidly approaching a time where nearly 50% of the population will be 65 or older. Together, we can end the silence of elder abuse by standing united and raising our voices against this growing problem.
Show your support in this movement, by pledging to end the silence, raising awareness in your community, and speaking up against elder abuse.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart." R. Bove
