Take The Pledge

Stop the Silence. Promote Awareness. Raise your Voice.

  • 1 to 2 million Americans age 65+ report having been abused by a loved one or someone they depend on for care.
  • Only 1 in 14 incidents of elder abuse are ever reported to authorities.
  • Only 1 in 25 cases of financial exploitation are ever reported, meaning there may be at least 5 million financial abuse victims each year.

You can do your part to end the silent epidemic of elder abuse by taking the pledge to stand up against elder abuse. There are 10,000 people who are turning 65 each and every day (Pew Research Center), and we are rapidly approaching a time where nearly 50% of the population will be 65 or older. Together, we can end the silence of elder abuse by standing united and raising our voices against this growing problem.

Show your support in this movement, by pledging to end the silence, raising awareness in your community, and speaking up against elder abuse.

"Kerri Kasem is working to honor our elderly. . by God it is very important and obligation to dignify our eldery...Freedom from isolation. Go Kerri Kasem. Thank you." V. Amaral

"Without stimulation and love, people die." THANKS for pointing out that isolation is elder abuse." S. White

"I can't thank you enough for starting this conversation. Your dad would be so proud. He is smiling watching you change such an important part of wishes that I am sure were already planned. It breaks my heart for all the pain you endure to get something that should not even be a fight. You are inspirational and have helped me keep my head on straight knowing how hard you are working. Thank you from the bottom of my heart." R. Bove

"You are amazing! Keep up the fight for all those that can't." S. Benton

Our mom is trapped in an alleged fraudulent abusive conservatorship in Orange County, California. This was initiated by our brother after our parents cut him off financially in 2014. His first attempt was in 2015. Our parents had access to their finances at the time and were able to fight and prevail. Our dad died shortly after. Again brother refilled in May of 2019 and prevailed being granted temporary conservator of the person. None of mom’s three daughters were properly notified and 9 relatives to the second degree were not notified at all. Our family event facility, open yard storage units, mom’s home and most of her belongings are being sold off at this time. Fiduciary Real Estate Services, Ruben Martinez and wife/attorney Teresa Gorman are allegedly linked to over a decade of devaluation of assets and properties, selling “low ball” to buyers who “flip” shortly thereafter at great profit.

“They” are destroying a business and our mom’s life. Our family built the American Way Cultural Center to honor American Heritage and to honor God. Forty years of a legacy destroyed in under 2 years!

The courts did grant mom a “change of address” recently to flee this nightmare. She is currently “homeless”. The conservator is allegedly holding $300 in account for her “care” and whatever is left of the alleged $2.5 million they borrowed against her property at the beginning of this.

“They” said all her property and belongings were only worth $3.3 million when they initially filed in 2019. (Under penalty of perjury).

The last all cash offer for her property was $13.55 million!

We pray for all the families that are allegedly victims of this plight on our loved ones 🙏🏻🙏🏻

God is our only hope!! All our treasures are safe in heaven, but not on this earth where they can “kill, steal and destroy”!

G-d willing we ALL will become Elderly I am one in that population however there are those who are even more elder. Those who are more vulnerable and are at a disadvantage physically emotionally mentally and sometimes financially. Liberal conservative LGBTQ faith system isn’t either a deterrent all you have to be is human. Abuse neglect and financial exploitation is a conspiratorial crime and should be treated as such and when monies cross state and international lines and borders it should be treated as FEDERAL crimes. These crimes are not crimes of passion but perpetuated with malice and forethought. Blatant violations of human and civil rights! FBI should be involved and those who are participants brought to justice. Alienation isolated and deliberate contemplation and destroying the natural affections of the parent/child bonds and relationships should be protected by law irrespective of the age of the child and the parent. My Father Paul Alexander Gatling was convicted of a crime he didn’t commit fifty some years ago he was exonerated and compensated for it and since that time he has been alienated off and on based on him being manipulated by family members taking advantage of him having Parkinson’s and Dementia.. My Father my brother and our children were close. The same cast of characters involved were integral in the exact situation that alienated my cousin from his Mother. He and his Mother are both deceased. I tried to post my family’s story earlier and was unsuccessful. I want laws made so what my Father and our family are going through to NEVER happen again and for more public awareness on this in plain site cancer is done away with. My family has been victim of a local guardianship, with total and complete power, without any accountability. Assisted by A.P.S. and D.S.H.S., they ultimately sought assistance from the State Assistant Attorney General’s Office because I put up a fight. Not one I was prepared for at all. With the lies, fraud, libelous slander and false allegations, bargaining, good humored slaps on the back of “do me this favor”, I became so disillusioned and then disgusted, I felt alone. Now I have healed somewhat, continue researching,, and keeping up with my journals, have to make this decision to help others in any way I can without stepping on the wrong toes. I don’t want to be investigated, monitored, followed, falsely reported upon by community members I thought would never stoop to that level of ignorance; nor can I just pick up with my life where it was,, before it was so rudely torn apart, isolated, lied to, and forced out of my own city limits,, only so a certain group of individuals could seize all assets, access bank accounts, sell my mother’s house, get rid of her identity by furthering their vile attempts to isolate and terrify the vulnerable adult with threats and punishing family members. The unscrupulous tactics employed by the state, court, attorney’s, guardianship, A.P.S., and D.S.H.S., are too lengthy and vile to sum up in a few paragraphs. I can only say that I want to give 100% of myself to volunteer and make any difference I can to never see the degree of loneliness I have witnessed and been part of, to never see those painful tears or feelings of abandonment these crooked individuals have made the elderly vulnerable adults feel along with their families. I will give it my everything. My absolute best.

I watched the 48 hours episode regarding the fight you had on your hands with the stepmother. It was like watching my life on tv. My sister and my brother are going thru almost the same exact thing! My dad has advanced Alzheimer’s and his wife (2nd marriage) hates us and is in it for the money. I could go on and on but I’m sure you get the idea. SO glad you started this foundation! We are in Colorado and hope that this state will also pass this bill. We were kept from our dad for 4 months and it was awful.

    Thank you!!
